Roberto Medina
National Coordinator, Colombia FCA

Roberto met James Oilar in 2011 in the City of Barranquilla while both were serving as translators with a medical missions group. Roberto already had a passion for God and for sports ministry, he just didn’t know how to do it. He started out as a volunteer and has quickly risen to second in command serving as Coordinator for all ministry in Colombia. When he isn’t traveling to other cities to grow the ministry, Roberto focuses on the southern area of Bogota.

Obed Simancas
Maracaibo FCA Director

My name is Obed Simancas Enrique Bravo and in late 2011, God touched my heart to start a sports ministry through our church to reach some of the young people in our community. Then in early 2012 I received a surprise when I met with a representative from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). I was struck by the ministry and the way they work with athletes, coaches and their families, using sport as a strategy to reach the community for Christ. Since then God has given me the privilege to serve full-time in this ministry as the Maracaibo FCA Director. In the short time I have served with FCA I have seen people with many problems, some even with the desire to no longer live, have their lives transformed by the saving grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. For me to serve my God with FCA, fills me with joy and it’s both a privilege and a blessing to be used by God to transform lives. I will always be grateful to my Lord Jesus for giving me eternal life, and for allowing me to work in such a beautiful ministry. Obed studied Mechanical Engineering at the University of Zulia. Both he and his wife Dayana are members of the First Baptist Church of Maracaibo where Obed is a Deacon. Together, they have a daughter named Laura Esther.
